Goring & Streatley Arts Support

What do we do?

We bring professional performers to our villages to support the already thriving cultural activities here. You would normally have to travel much further than Goring or Streatley to see the performers we have promoted.

The Watermill has been here four times with The Garden of Llangoed, Micky Salberg, Bubbles and Gulliver’s Travels; we’ve had two amazing storytellers in Hugh Lupton and Ben Haggarty; London Baroque enchanted us in 2009 on a balmy summer’s evening in the Morrell Room and we had a Magical Musical Evening in October last year with four outstanding young performers from the world of classical music and theatre.

Some recent and fothcoming events:

On Saturday 8th October we were very excited to welcome back to Streatley a local girl, the lovely Fiona Pearce, who performed with Hannah Croft (from Wantage) as their comedy duo, CROFT & PEARCE (to quote Alistair McGowan, “sketch comedy at its best”) – check out the website at www.croftandpearce.com - and they’ll be joined by the fabulous Pete Orton! This will be a sparkling evening … do join us to support Fi & Hannah on their return from a triumphant Edinburgh Fringe Festival and Pete, who is a well known and much loved comic musical performer.

And then on Tuesday 25th October  we have the Watermill Theatre with Oxfordshire Theatre Company and they are touring SOME LIKE IT HOTTER. The Watermill Theatre has the show in the main house in November and it’s a complete sell-out - and it is with us now as well!
